The main goal of the YSR Jagananna Colonies Project is to provide pakka houses to the underprivileged and economically weaker sections of society. Under this scheme, the AP government has planned to construct over 30 lakh affordable houses across the state. 

In this project’s initial phase, more than 15.6 lakh houses will be constructed. The government of AP intends to spend Rs 28,084 crore on the first phase of house construction under the YSR Jagananna Colonies Project. Under phase two of the scheme, 12.70 lakh houses will be built by 2023.
